Description
River Cottage is a most romantic and secluded stone and thatch cottage on the river. A favourite with couples, several have returned more than 10 times! Situated on the banks of the Palala river, this private lodge is the perfect mix of stylish comfort and excellent facilities from which to explore and enjoy the bush.
A single bedroom draped with a mosquito net, a sunken bathroom, spacious sitting room with open plan kitchen and a shady verandah from which to enjoy game viewing, read a book or relax in the hammock.
Equipped to a very high standard – this is true get away from it all in style.
Enjoy self –drive game viewing or book one of our experienced rangers for a drive or guided walk. Subject to availability. The braai area is set on the river bank. Firewood is available.

This place has all you need - shady trees, privacy, wildlife, river, quiet walks, no TV, nice fireplace indoors and outdoors, big bed and all the other basic comforts - all put together in a very nice package. I will definitely go again!
Palala River Cottage in Vaalwater Reviewed by Helen Derrett, South Africa on . Relaxing weekend awayIt is most definitely a place that everybody should go to. It was wonderful, relaxing and peaceful. We saw plenty of wildlife and had pleasant weather.

It really helped us to relax and forget about the concrete jungle.
