Owned and run by Peter Renwick since 1975, your hosts will ensure that a happy holiday starts right here. We are a 45-minute drive from Durban on the sunny KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. Families with children of all ages are welcome at the Cutty Sark Hotel, which boasts 14 acres of beautiful grounds. There is a rate option of room only or dinner, bed and breakfast, and the rates are amended according to the length of stay. The hotel also offers conference facilities, as well as fun for all types and ages.
The Cutty Sark Hotel offers a wonderful swimming pool and a smaller children's pool. At the end of the garden lies the beach and the Indian Ocean, and there are a few tidal pools located a short distance away. A games room with pool tables, table tennis and various other games are available within the hotel. There are a wide variety of recreational facilities in the area, and guests can enjoy scuba diving at the Aliwal Shoal, where you can dive with ragged tooth sharks.
Often referred to as the Golf Coast, the Kwazulu-Natal South Coast is a golfing mecca with over 20 top-class courses stretching from Durban in the north to the Wild Coast in the south. A driving range is also available on the Old South Coast Road opposite Selborne Country Club. The nearby shopping centre has numerous restaurants including Spur and Ocean Basket. A wide variety of other stores include Woolworths, Pick n Pay and Mr Price. Scottburgh Country Club plays host to numerous sporting events including rugby, soccer, cricket, hockey and tennis. Experience the Crocodile Farm, which is a must see destination. It is home to a number of crocodiles, birds, snakes and other smaller reptiles.
The T.C. Robertson Nature Reserve is within walking distance of the hotel and is home to a vast array of birdlife and small antelope. Vernon Crookes Nature Reserve is a 20-minute drive from the hotel and it has a large amount of wildlife including zebra, giraffe and number of large antelope. Other larger game reserves, which are home to the Big 5 and other land mammals, can be found within the province. |
