Kromdrift holiday cottage is hidden within a beautiful forest on a working farm, at the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg mountain range. Boasting dramatic mountain range views, exciting rare bird life, a large watersports dam and endless hiking possibilities for the casual walker to the intrepid explorer, Kromdrift farm offers many exciting outdoor pursuits.

Kromdrift cottage offers a wonderful serene escape to rural life in KwaZulu-Natal without compromising comfort. The cottage has been recently renovated and offers visitors a clean open plan living and entertainment space with a large central fireplace for chilly nights in the mountains. The living room boasts large patio doors opening onto a spacious outside veranda area. Braai facilities are provided.

The cottage has it’s own private garden for enjoying summer evenings and is very child friendly. It is also located within a secure fenced off yard, which is shared with the main farmhouse. Please be aware that access is not permitted to the cottage via the main farmhouses’ entrance gate. The cottage has its own private access road through the forest. We have two very friendly dogs called Mishka and Maddy who are bound to pop over for the occasional cuddle. Dog lovers only please. We are located about 70km from the nearest town.

Our little beauty and art studio is directly next to the cottage. It is still a work in progress, but Marcia is a trained beauty therapist and is very happy to offer massages, please book these in advance. Frankie is a professional artist and you can view her work in the studio. She specializes in acrylic on canvas paintings, however she also sells stunning photographic work taken in the surrounding area and cards for souvenirs.

Kromdrift Cottage in Underberg Reviewed by Akbar Zendegani, South Africa on . Winter get away The cottage was big and cold, but heating was original and open fire was excellent. Quite a good hiking area. Very good hospitality from the owners and a lot to learn from them.
