Description
Athenian Villa welcomes you to a little piece of the Greek Isles in the Overberg. Set in a side lane off the main road, one can lose sight of the little town of Caledon, and imagine oneself in Mykonos or Santorini, the setting is so authentic.

We offer nine individually decorated guest rooms, each with toilet and shower facilities. Rooms are also equipped with DStv, wall heaters and fans. The courtyard is cobblestone, cascading with overgrown plants and flowers, making it an ideal place for breakfast or a barbecue. The building itself has a grand history being one of the first in the town of Caledon, and the façade, which is a National Monument, overlooks Donkin Street. Above is a huge balcony where one can spend lazy afternoons reading or sipping tea.

Other nearby amenities include a golf course, a 4x4 track and quad bike racing. We are conveniently located close to the casino, and it is just a 20-minute scenic drive to the seaside town of Hermanus, famous for whale watching.

Athenian Villa offers secure parking, conference facilities and can accommodate groups of up to 16 people. Peter and Carol will go out of their way to make sure every guest has an unforgettable stay.

Rooms are lovely and fresh and clean, breakfast is very nice, and there is secure parking. A little noisy near the street side but other than that, a wonderful stay and reasonably priced. We will be back.

No tissues provided. Clean and breakfast good. Staff friendly and helpful. Security an issue due to poor location. <br><b>Establishment's Response:</b><br><i>Many thanks for your comments which we appreciate. “The Good Hope Building “ which houses the “ Bed and Breakfast “ is in fact old and is registered as an Historical Monument. This would account for the narrow plumbing used in those days. The basin was in fact not blocked, but narrow piping causes the slow release of water. However, a plumber was summoned immediately to attend to the problem. We are situated in the downtown business district of Caledon hence the quiet evenings and slight daytime traffic. We are in a quaint side alley of the building leading onto a cottage and private parking lot. May we bring to your attention that in the 14 years of “Athenian Villa“ being in operation we have never had an incident regarding security issues. Our guests often describe us as an “Oasis” in Caledon.</i>
