Travel an adventurous, scenic dirt road and hidden in the Makungutsha Mountains you will find Wide Horizons exclusive tented camp. This secluded hideaway is located in the bush and has amazing views. Take advantage of the many trails through indigenous forests and up mountain paths or just relax and indulge in the scenery.

Enjoy a drink on the veranda while watching the sun set, sit around the fire under African skies or treat yourself to a hot bath by candle light in this tranquil environment. The tent is en suite and sleeps two with a fully equipped self-catering open-air kitchen, a braai area and unique outdoor shower. Wide Horizons exclusive tented camp is entirely self-sufficient and runs on solar and natural energy to keep those starlit evenings warm with a cosy atmosphere.

There is also a self-catering cottage that sleeps up to three guests, and is fully equipped, with far reaching views down the Usutu valley towards Mozambique. The cottage features a double bedroom plus a small single room, a shower en suite, kitchen, and a braai area.

In addition to the tent and the cottage; bed and breakfast accommodation is offered in a homely, thatched stone-built farmhouse. The two double rooms are in a separate wing of the family home, and each contain an en-suite bathroom and their own veranda with far-reaching views. The rooms are individually decorated with lots of character and charm.

Wide Horizons is located on Rosecraft Farm, an operating farm and nature reserve. This romantic retreat offers extensive gardens with abundant birdlife, a natural rock swimming pool, contemplation shrine, and a tennis court. Enjoy the atmosphere of a working farm, the real out of Africa experience, with nature conservation area, fishing dams, sunset view spots, hiking trails and tranquillity. Wherever you are – the views will entrance you.

Wide Horizons is approximately 30 minutes drive from Malkerns, Matsapha and Ezulwini. We recommend a high clearance vehicle, as gravel road can be rough at times.

You don't have electricity, so leave all your electronics and social media behind, and go back to basics with your loved one. But don't worry, you still have your creature comforts. We enjoyed it lots, and absolutely want to return as soon as possible.
