Lituba Lodge is set in a beautiful and tranquil rural setting where it nestles beneath the shadows of Lubombo Mountains, just off the main road between Big Bend and Siteki. The lodge is located 25 minutes’ drive from the new Sikhuphe International Airport and is on the main route from Durban and Kwazulu-Natal to the world-famous Kruger National Park and Mozambique.

Accommodation comprises nine Rondavels - the traditional type of accommodation that the Swazi nation used to build. The Rondavels are basic but well-appointed and some include two twin beds others are suited for a family or group of up to five, and have a double bed with a single bunk bed above and twin beds. Each Rondavel has an en-suite bathroom and air-conditioning.

The Lodge is close to two good game reserves, Mkhaya and Hlane Royal Game Reserve, approximately 35 minutes’ drive from the Lodge. Enquire for further information. Both Kruger National Park and Maputo are about one and a half hours drive from the lodge.

We arrived and the geyser was not switched on and it took about an hour to get the water warm. The towels in the bathroom were not completely dry. We ordered food from the restaurant and they advised that they only had 3 items available on the menu, so we ordered 5 hamburgers only to be told that they only have 4 hamburgers. There was no kettle in the room. There was loud music played from the main building until late. When we woke up in the morning there was no water. Really bad way to end our holiday. Lituba Lodge in Big Bend Reviewed by Anthony Yunnie, South Africa on . Poorly Managed but enthusiatic We stayed at Lituba Lodge in December 2014. The owner was friendly and provided a quiz with a prize - which was nice. Unfortunately, the facilities were not great (the braai grid was quite disgusting). More irritating was that he could not accept credit card payments and we had to pay via paypal. Through this, the amount actually paid was more than the advertised price. We were made to pay the fees as well as the exchange rate losses (which ended up being several hundred rand more than the quoted price). This is not acceptable.
