Welcome to the south of Namibia at Namtib Biosphere Reserve, the Jewel of the Tiras Mountains. We offer our visitors not only a relaxing holiday, but an unforgettable and genuine Namibian experience at the edge of the famous Namib-Naukluft Park. At Namtib Biosphere Reserve, the hustle and bustle of everyday life fades into a distant memory. Surrounded by the beauty of majestic African landscapes and rugged mountains towering over vast open plains, you will experience tranquility, wide open spaces, fascinating unspoilt scenery, breathtaking views, untouched nature, and absolute silence.

Enjoy typical Namibian rustic farm-style accommodation at Namtib Desert Lodge or find an individual desert and wilderness experience at our campsite, Little Hunter's Rest. Our small lodge, with only five bungalows, one family room and two single rooms, is the ideal place to stay for anybody seeking individuality.

If you prefer the outdoors and wish to camp in the wilderness, Little Hunter's Rest offers four single sites spread far apart and one group site, accommodating up to 12 or more people. Little Hunter's Rest provides basic ablution and cooking facilities and an absolutely undisturbed stay at the edge of the Namib desert, and derives its name from the historical background of the area in which it is situated. Artefacts found under the large camel thorn trees proved that San Bushmen hunters rested often under the trees during their hunt. The atmosphere of that place is indeed special and allows you to follow the ancient way of the little hunter into the Tiras Mountains.

Through close personal contact with our family at Namtib Desert Lodge guests get to experience typical Namibian farm life and will discover interesting information about the famous Namib Desert, the fascinating Tiras Mountains and the fauna and flora of Southern Namibia. Activities at Namtib include nature drives, guided hiking trails, bird watching, guided desert trails, and stargazing.
