Vreugde Guest Farm in Outjo Reviewed by Natalie Tonking, South Africa on . great food, comfy bed This is a fantastic gem. Certainly one I will stay at again.
The food is wonderful, creative and fresh. DB&B is an essential as there is no other option for dinner in the area. Be aware there are no coffee shops, shops or fuel etc within range. Last shops and pharmacies are at Outji, next fuel and very expensive shop is in Etosha, so make sure you have filled up with all you need.
The welcome is warm and the owners are knowledgable on the park. If you want to see surrounding attractions they will ring before you begin the long drive to make sure they are open. Everything is a long way away but the roads are generally good.
The location a little way from Etosha main gate and you need to be careful of game on the road if you are trying to get there in time for the gate openings at sunrise. They offer game drives, and you get to drive yourself up to the gate in the warmth of your own car before transfering to the open vehicle at the gate entrance. This is worth doing.
The rooms are wonderful.... beds good and the rooms clean. The only faults I could find were possibly more water pressure in the shower and more cupboard space.

One last word.... one of the owners will join you for dinner, which is nice and helpful when you want to find out about the country and the park but avoid topics of politics, race or religion as opions can be quite strong.
Otherwise a fantastic stay, one I would visit again.
