Nestled among the Acacias and Jackleberry’s, along the lush banks of the mighty Zambezi, lies a small paradise, a home away from home, where you can truly return to nature and enjoy the opportunity to completely unwind whilst indulging in all the African bush has to offer.

Kalizo Lodge, meaning place of safety, is indeed a tranquil safe haven. Conveniently situated 40 km from Katima Mullilo and a few hours from the famous Victoria Falls, Chobe Game Reserve and other National parks, it is undeniably the heart of any great adventure.

Kalizo Lodge is a getaway for the whole family and offers much that can be enjoyed by all. Some of the activities that keep enticing visitors to return include, world-class river fishing, birding and photography as well as boating and game viewing.

Accommodation at the lodge is either in Luxury Tents, Family Units and Campsites.

Activities include guided birding and fishing trips, photographic safaris, day and overnight trips to Chobe National Park, Victoria Falls and various Caprivi Game Parks as well as boat hire from small speed boats to large pontoons for the whole family.

Sir Oasis of the River, our largest pontoon boat (max 25 people) is also recommended, and these cruises are tailor-made to suit individual requirements.

Bird watching and photography are all year round pursuits, and a large breeding colony of carmine bee-eaters can be viewed from the river, from mid-August to late November. Between April and December, the magnificent African skimmers are a familiar sight, and a leisurely boat cruise will reveal the ever-present fish eagle, herons, kingfishers and coppery tailed coucals.

Kalizo has the best tiger and bream fishing on the river. The lodge's well-equipped boats, with rods and fishing tackle, not to mention their experienced guides, will accompany their guests to the best fishing locations on the river.
