Description
The Hatchery is an ex-prawn hatchery located right on the lagoon overlooking Casuarina Island and the Amatikulu beach and game reserve. The pump house, artemia and maturation rooms have been converted into eight rooms, and each one can be experienced and enjoyed because they offer a fun take on the history of the building.

If you are on a budget you can squeeze in with your family or friends, or you can take a room for yourself and make the experience your own.

The Hatchery is less than an hour from Durban and is a brilliant venue for weekend weddings and milestone celebrations, or for brainstorming in a completely different environment.

We provide all linen, bedding, towels, and even air-conditioning. There are no baths, only en-suites with double showers.

The communal kitchen and dining table is kitted for any culinary adventure you may want to try your hand at, and a cool place to hang out in inclement weather. There are plenty of spots which show different aspects of the bush and beach environment right at The Hatchery, or if you prefer to explore try Casuarina Island or one of the lagoon's beaches only a stone’s throw away.

It is very relaxing and the staff is supremely helpful.</p> <p></p> <p>The island is something to behold, not a single person in sight.</p> <p></p> <p>If you are looking for a non traditional beach holiday, the hatchery is well worth a visit.</p>

It may not be pretty outside but it is comfortable and uniquely peaceful. Remember to bring every consumable you need. They provide only bathroom and dishwashing soap and matches.
