Description
Where the booming breakers of the Indian Ocean relentlessly pound rocky shores, where temperate high forest and fynbos roll down to the sea in an unspoilt verdant carpet, where ancient rivers carve their paths to the ocean down rocky ravines. This "the place of much water", is the Tsitsikamma National Park. The heartland of the park stretches some 5 km to sea, protecting a wonderland of inter-tidal life, reef and deep-sea fish. Dolphins frolic in the breakers, surfing and playing for the sheer joy of life, and the gentle giant of the ocean, the southern right whale visits here, coming inshore to breed. Please note that the rates displayed are for two/four guests and that the rates are subject to the number of guests as well as children staying, hence we advise guests to request the appropriate tariffs.

Storms River Mouth Rest Camp Garden Route SANParks in Tsitsikamma Reviewed by Cynthia Bossert, South Africa on . Pleasant stay The location is what this place is all about.  It's basic so make sure you stock up properly for your self catering stay before you leave. We enjoyed the Waterfall Hike on out first day and watching the daisies. If you are a hiking and nature lover, this place is heaven on earth!
Storms River Mouth Rest Camp Garden Route SANParks in Tsitsikamma Reviewed by Yury Khrol, South Africa on . I was staying in Forest Hub and accommodation itself is nice. It is situated in a really beautiful location on the territory of the park, in 50-100 m from the ocean. Rooms was clean. You've got necessary minimum, nothing extra but mostly all you need to stay overnight. Fridge is only one per camp if it is important for you. Minimal cutlery/braai facilities are provided. So in general accommodation is good enough. It's a bit wet inside due to close of the ocean, but there is nothing one can do with it. So you just have to be ready. The problem is no one tells you that you'll have to pay entrance fee on top of rental price. And currently (Jan 2015) in case of 2 international visitors it is 334 ZAR per day! While rent is about R600. And you only realise it upon arrival. And your choice is either to pay more than 50% extra, or to loose all that you've already paid. From my point of view it looks like false advertisement and forcing to pay bigger price. Really frustrating. Especially when you weren't planning to spend this extra.PS It is not such a big deal for local visitors. For SA ID holders entrance fee is about R42 pp per day.
