Aan de Oever is situated on the banks of a small river, in an area known for growing fruit and vegetables for the earlier travellers, hence the name, Koornlands River. Aan de Oever offers a selection of well appointed and elegant rooms with majestic views over the Langeberg mountains.

Aan de Oever Guest House is situated in a very quiet street within walking distance of shops, good restaurants and tourist attractions. The famous Drostdy Museum is only 400 metres away.

Enjoy our generous breakfasts on a patio overlooking our gardens and the mountains in summer or inside at a log fire in winter.

Come and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with abundant birdlife, sundowners in the garden, star-gazing or just relax at our sparkling saltwater pool which gets full sun for most of the day. Our town and surroundings have much to offer to our visitors, from heritage to wildlife. The De Hoop Nature Reserve is only 75 km away, Bontebok National Park only 6 km, the Robertson Wine Valley only 75 km, Tradouws Pass 20 km, hiking trails and golf course 3 km.

Aan de Oever Guesthouse in Swellendam Reviewed by COLIN HUME, South Africa on . Enjoyed it We enjoyed our stay in Aan de Oever -although it was only one night in transit. We had stayed before in November 2011. We received a very nice welcome - juice on arrival and given a very comfortable room. The breakfast was extensive based on local produce whilst our car was washed by the gardener/handy man who kept the grounds looking immaculate.We were given some muffins for our onward journey and made to feel very welcome by the pleasant and efficient new manageress. Very recommended! Note we enjoyed a lovely home cooked evening meal with a set menu from the local restaurant only 10 mins walk which was excellent!
