Greytown, the jewel of the Natal Midlands, is the administrative and business centre of the Umvoti County and is rich in Colonial history. Places of interest include a fascinating museum, several old churches, buildings and historical sites, such as General Louis Botha's birth place. For bird-watchers and lovers of wildlife there are the nearby Weenen Game Reserve, the Blinkwater hiking trail and the Umvoti Vlei where you will generally find the rare wattled crane. Water sports can be enjoyed at Merthley Lake and a variety of sports such as golf, squash, tennis and bowls are offered at The Greytown Country Club and other sporting venues.

Lord Grey Guest House offers accommodation in seven en-suite rooms. The rooms contain either a double bed or twin single beds and room facilities include a TV with local channels and M-Net, fans and heaters. Guests are also welcome to make use of the large, comfortable lounge with fireplace and the dining area, which is equipped with tea and coffee-making facilities and a bar fridge. In addition, secure parking and laundry facilities are available and the guest house also offers barbecue facilities.

Lord Grey Guest House in Greytown Reviewed by constance Mavundla, South Africa on . zero hi, i was @ LORD grey, but i am so dissapointed it is just not of standard and moreover of the money that i paid and the place is not clean at all, i have been to lodges around Greytown that i cannot mention but Lord grey doesnt fit at all i am sorry i wont bother to book it again.

However, there was no shower curtain for the shower/bath, resulting in a lot of water splashing on to the floor, making it very slippery and dangerous. We were then moved to another room with a proper shower.
