Description
Truly the flagship of the South African National Parks, Kruger is home to an impressive number of species, namely 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. Man's interaction with the Lowveld environment over many centuries, from bushman rock paintings to majestic archaeological sites like Masorini and Thulamela, is very evident in the Kruger National Park. These treasures represent the cultures, persons and events that played a role in the history of the Kruger National Park and are conserved along with the park's natural assets.

Sable Sleepover Overnight Hides Kruger National Park SANParks in Phalaborwa Reviewed by Tristan Lee-Johnson, United Kingdom on . Sleepover at Sable Hide We had a great experience. Would recommend anyone to stay there if they want an authentic outdoor experience with many animals around. Hints: The sleepover beds are all single beds and rugged, bedding was damp so we needed to dry them by fire. There are two fire pits with stone seats encircling, there is the hide itself which views a large watering hole. We purchased meat from Spar before entering Kruger however there is game meat, meat, firewood and a general goods shop about 2 hours into the Kruger Park. We purchased nine bags of wood to last through the entire night, if you want a roaring fire then double or triple that. Unexpected R100 deposit for keys and have to be returned to same gate 30 minutes away. Bedding, grill were supplied free. Spade and broom were there.
Sable Sleepover Overnight Hides Kruger National Park SANParks in Phalaborwa Reviewed by Maryvonne Blanchard, France on . Roaring night Our last night in KNP was at Sable and it was the night the lions chose to give us a chorus of roars (they had had a kill in the morning). Awesome. Sable is comfortable, even on a chilly July night. Clean, spacious, well maintained. A must for any nature lover.
