Description
Set in a four-acre tropical garden, with a magnificent Drakensberg escarpment backdrop, Blue Cottages offers delightfully quaint accommodation in six individual cottages (including self catering and family options).

The main house comprises the original farm manager’s cottage built in 1948, by Captain Drury, on the pioneering Olifants River Estate. The original lampposts imported especially by Drury from London, can still be seen on the road leading to Blue Cottages.

The main farmhouse is next to Monsoon Gallery & Mad Dogz Café, which is forms part of the Blue Cottages.
The stunning Blyde River Canyon route is nearby, as are opportunities for rafting, hiking and bird watching,hot-air balloon rides and game viewing drives can also be arranged on request. Kruger Park’s Phalaborwa and Orpen gates are an hour’s drive away.

Blue Cottages in Hoedspruit Reviewed by Gerald France, South Africa on . Two day stay The cottage was clean and for self catering well equipped. The garden was beautiful and well looked after and the staff were accommodating and pleasant. Dinner is available if one does not want to cook for oneself. I was very comfortable during my stay and found Blue Cottages to be great value for money.
Blue Cottages in Hoedspruit Reviewed by Hendrine Kriel, South Africa on . Quiet retreat The cottages are set in a jungle like garden. We used the family cottage and found it comfortable and spacious enough for three adults (son of 17). A kitchen in the rondavel for self catering. We were served a lovely dinner under the stars in the garden. Tony and Tertia made us feel welcome and we will definitely stay there again. Bigger soaps could be provided in the family cottage.
