South African Beach And City Accommodation
Dimalachite Nature Resort and River Lodge in Vredefort Dome
Description |
|
Dimalachite River Lodge is situated on the banks of the Vaal River, close to Parys, in the Vredefort-Dome World Heritage Site which was created by the impact of the biggest and oldest meteorite that ever struck the earth. Dimalachite is named after the malachite kingfisher that nests along the banks of the Vaal River, surrounded by water and nature and where the call of the fish eagle can be heard from time to time.
Come and relax at the swimming pool or Jacuzzi, do some bird-watching, paddle on the river and enjoy the thrill of white water rafting. Join us for a guided fishing trip and be sure to catch a fish, or catch that big one from your campsite. Join us for a sunset cruise on rafts just before sunset with snacks or a bonfire braai at a bonfire. Enjoy your evenings with friends and family on the riverbank around a campfire.
Dimalachite offers a variety of accommodation options including luxury lodges, regular chalets, sleeping rooms, and campsites. We also offer accommodation in secluded lodges bordering the Kruger Park.
Dimalachite is a place where the whole family is welcome; good accommodation and camping facilities, and don’t forget the big fish. With deep holes and rapids, Dimalachite is the ideal fishing venue for fly as well as bank fishing. The biggest large mouth yellow caught here on fly was 24 lb. Our motto is ‘catch and release’ so please take a nice photo, and release the fish as soon as possible. We rent out rafts to paddle to the islands and rapids, or you can bring your own.
The Vaal River, close to Parys, has some of the best white water rapids in South Africa. Dimalachite is a very popular white-water rafting destination for families, corporate and school groups. We offer mild to wild rafting, as well as relaxed paddling. Bring your family, friends and colleagues for a trip they will never forget.
Regular rooms - Vinkneste is great for school and youth groups, but some private visitors also use it when they have friends camping and they do not have their own camping equipment.
Some corporate guests with a tight budget also make use of the Vinkneste. We even do the catering for school, youth and corporate groups.
