Description
Situated in the garden town of Kuruman in the beautiful Kalahari, Kuru-Kuru Guest House is known for it’s warm hospitality and excellent cuisine. Only 478km from central Johannesburg, Kuruman is known as the oasis of the Kalahari, with it’s natural fountain in the centre of town delivering around 20 million liters of crystal clear water daily. Commonly known as “The Eye” legend tells, that any who drink from it’s clear spring may never wish to leave Kuruman again. Robert Moffat, Scottish missionary, who translated the Bible into Tswana, lived here for 50 years. World-famous explorer, David Livingstone, lost his heart here to the daughter of the Reverend Moffat. On the main route between Gauteng and Namibia, and Cape Town via Upington, this area is an ideal stop over. Stay over with us en route to the Augrabies, Kgalagadi National Park, the Wild Flowers or come and stay for a week, a month and explore the Kalahari.

Kuru-Kuru Guest House in Kuruman Reviewed by anna meiring, South Africa on . The accommodation was comfartable. On request the owners did not have a problem in allocating another unit so that we have two units close together. That was much appreciated. Otherwise nothing exraordinary. Clean and neat and all the necessities for a winters night.

Just one thing, and it applies to the majority of the self catering facilities that we used during our travel in the Northern Cape Province, that is in the showers, no adequate support for older persons to hold on. Some of the shower floor are very slippery. According to the National Building Regulations, all hot water taps, must be on your left if you stand in front of the facility, facing it. Very little adherence to the Regulations.
