Larona Inn in Mahikeng Reviewed by Bryan , South Africa on . Worst experience everThis was without doubt the worst place I have ever stayed at. I only stayed 2 nights, but it was def not worth what I paid. The first night had a closing down party for the bar, and it continued until about 4am, with drunk raucous guests arguing loudly even past that time.
I booked for 2 adults, but was only given one towel. The hot water tap for the shower did not produce any water at all, so I had no shower.
On the 2nd day, I found the bathroom floor covered with ants. The access vent on the side of the tub does not have a cover, by the way.
The next day, it was flies.
They say they provide dstv, but don't kid yourself. There are only 2 channels, one of which was continually on sport (foreign soccer), and the other on channel O. you cannot change the channels, they are controlled at the bar for all the rooms. If you skip the dstv, none of the sabc oe etv channels are tuned.
The staff were not terribly enthusiastic about attending to any of my requests for assistance, and there was no visible manager or owner, so there was generally a sense of "no one gives a hoot". All in all, a perfectly forgettable trip to an otherwise wonderful city.
