Mtati River Lodge, situated 200 km north east of Port Elizabeth and 100 km south of East London on the Eastern Cape’s Sunshine coast, consists of two self-catering units which form part of the small privately owned Mtati Lagoon Resort. It is an environmentally sensitive development and great care has been taken to preserve the natural flora.

Staying in the pristine beauty of this secluded beach resort is an experience of a lifetime. The chalets are nestled into the magnificent indigenous coastal forest with stunning views of the vast and unspoilt beach and lagoon. It is unique for its offering of beauty and tranquillity but provides all the facilities for a fun seaside holiday, or a welcome short break from a long journey.

Your holiday activities could include bathing in the lagoon or the sea; river-, surf- and rock-fishing, canoeing , birding, walking, dune boarding , kiting, shell and oyster collecting or simply relaxing on the beach or on a deck.

The resort is 14 km from the famous Gary Player golf course at the Fish River Sun Resort and 43 km from the charming seaside town of Port Alfred where you will find all the shopping facilities you require, as well as restaurants, sporting activities such as deep sea fishing, scuba diving, health spas, river boating.

At the delightful historical village of Bathurst you can enjoy a pint at the famous Pig and Whistle Pub which is the oldest in South Africa. The beautifully situated Mpekweni Beach resort, which is only 3 km away, offers pub and dining facilities for you to enjoy.
