Description
Kuboboyi River Lodge is situated on South Africa’s South Coast, in Leisure Bay, with its blue flagged and pristine beaches. The area has plenty of activities and tours to offer the daring and wild at heart. Kuboboyi River Lodge is the place to be; settled on top of a beautiful hill, overlooking the river, and with a spectacular panoramic view of the sea meeting the continent that will literally take your breath away.

The hostel accommodation is comfortable and tastefully decorated with an African theme. Surrounded by a ,tropical paradise we offer double rooms either with private bathrooms or clean, shared bathrooms. Features include a fully equipped kitchen, and meals and continental breakfasts are also available at our upmarket restaurant. In addition, the lodge offers Internet access and laundry facilities, and guests are welcome to relax around the swimming pool. Transfers can be provided by prior arrangement and we can also assist with booking tours.

From the cool veranda, guests can spot whales, dolphins, plenty of bird life and small game animals. Guests can also hike the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve, which is regarded as one of the world’s plant hotspots, with a total of 330 species of woody plant and 80 herbaceous plants.

One Night stay Kuboboyi River Lodge was OK - it is like a typical backpackers' establishment so don't expect anything more. What we did not expect, however, was the price of the wine - R120 for a bottle of the lower-end-of-the-market wine - or you can take your own, but have to pay a corkage fee of R30 per person, and not per bottle. We were doing the Wild Coast hiking trail, starting at Port Edward, so it was a convenient place to stay the night before.
