Mikadi Beach Lodge offers a warm welcome to this barefoot paradise just south of Dar es Salaam. The lodge is ideally located for visits to Zanzibar, or onward travel to the rest of Tanzania’s awesome National Parks, or just chill out with us beside the warm beautiful Indian Ocean. Mikadi Beach Lodge derives its name from the Mikadi tree which thrives along the beautiful Tanzanian coastline.

The lodge is owner-managed by married couple Jo who is Zimbabwean and Lucho who is Chilean, and they recently embarked on a complete refurbishment of the lodge. They say location is everything, and the lodge is only 15 to 20 minutes from the Zanzibar Ferry, making it ideally placed for those travellers wanting to visit Zanzibar.

Accommodation is offered in individual bandas, which have been refurbished and contain individual fans and full-sized mosquito nets. There is a clean shower and toilet block with piping hot water that is well-maintained. For those travelling with their own tents the lodge also has space for campers.

There is a beautiful swimming pool available when the tide is out, and the bar restaurant awaits those glorious sundowners that Africa is famous for. The homemade burgers are especially good. The lodge offers parking to those who are overlanding and wanting to catch the ferry to Zanzibar and leave their vehicle at the lodge while away.
