Experience the rustic beauty of a new lodge in the heart of Kwa-Zulu Natal's thorn veld. The Moorings Lodge is situated on the shores of Wagendrift dam and has panoramic views of the dam and adjoining hills.

It consists of two fully furnished self-catering chalets which each sleep six.

Access for guests is exclusively by boat and guests will be ferried to and from the lodge if need be. The dam is clean and is an ideal getaway for families who enjoy fishing, watersports, birding and the peaceful outdoors. Swim in the dam, learn to ski, enjoy a sunset cruise, or watch all the dam's activities from the beautiful veranda.

Due to the remote location, electricity is provided by a generator which is run at predetermined times.

Shocking access road We were not able to use the accommodation as we had to go in and out a number of times for a cycle race and the access road was so bad that it took 55 minutes just to get from the freeway off-ramp to the lodge.&nbsp; We realized that our bikes would get destroyed on the back of the car and trying to navigate the "non-existent" road at night would be a nightmare.&nbsp; The lodged looked nice enough, but if you do not have a serious 4 x 4, do not even consider Moorings Lodge.&nbsp; Also, make sure you take EVERYTHING you could possible need for your stay as there is nothing nearby.<br />

No electricity, except for one light connected to a battery. Have small children and thus couldn't use the microwave even to warm their food. No tv , no microwave, no lights, only a bit of warm water. This is definitely very misleading and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Definitely not 3 star service.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
