Description
Pat's Place is a self-catering accommodation in St Helena Bay, where you can watch the sun rise and set on the bay. The accommodation is a stone’s throw from a very beautiful and tranquil beach, with balconies overlooking views of St Helena Bay.

The unit consists of two en-suite bedrooms and a fully equipped open-plan kitchen and lounge area, leading onto the balcony and braai area overlooking the indigenous garden. The unit sleeps a total of six guests comfortably in a double bed, two single beds and a sleeper couch. All linen and towels are provided, however beach towels are not supplied.

Pat's Place is situated on the Atlantic Ocean, with a most extraordinary coastline where the waters teem with marine life. Look out for the Southern Right whales, Heaviside dolphins, migratory birds from as far as Siberia, and thousands of Cape cormorants flying low over the bay at sunset.

Visit Sandy Bay harbour to buy fresh snoek in season. The tranquil waters are also perfect for kayaking and the pristine beaches can be explored for miles.

Unfortunately, there are a few key elements that urgently need attention. The towels, linen and fleece blankets provided had long female hairs in and on it. The en-suite shower had the same 'problem'. The toaster still had the previous guests' bread crumbs in it and the crockery inside the cupboard had left overs stuck to it. The grid of the braai doesn't seem to have ever been cleaned and the empty packets of chips and sweets underneath the deck is a sight for sore eyes. Waking up to the smell of cigarette smoke from the house upstairs (flat and house are separated by a door only), when you are a strict non-smoker is a BIG no. Pat is a friendly hostess, but will have to resolve these issues ASAP to ensure happier clients.
