Many guests have told us spontaneously that the location was genuinely idyllic - a bucolic island in the thick of a huge conurbation. Indeed, about half of the 9,000 square metre plot is largely left to itself and makes up, together with the built-up area and its fruit trees, a small but lively paradise for numerous wild birds, insects, and reptiles.

The feeling is pure country, even though shopping centres with banks, restaurants and pubs are within walking distance. SunnysideUp Backpackers Centurion is ideal for people who do not like to be locked up in the midst of a metropolitan area, even for a few days.

The place is clean and tidy and I loved all the chickens in the yard (though the roosters were a bit noisy during the night). It is fully self catering and has a very well equipped communal kitchen with plenty of mugs, plates, pots, pans and other cooking utensils. We are strongly considering going back to just spend a relaxing couple of days there to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The venue is very spacious and the kitchen is well equipped and it is easy to make any dish. Very toasty and warm environment in the evening with the fireplace maintained by the owner all evening.
