The area of Bronkhorstspruit is a small farming village that developed from a train station. This town is home to the Nan Hua Buddhist Temple where people flock for an annual Head Shaving Ceremony. Bronkhorstspruit Dam Nature Reserve is home to over 200 species of birds including the elusive pink-billed lark. The dam has also become known as a angling hotspot with particular focus on the bass.
