b@Home Guest House in De Bakke (Mossel Bay) Reviewed by Jennifer Kathoke, South Africa on . Happy stayWe stayed at the guest house for one night on our way to Cape Town. The rooms are comfortable. They offer DSTV but there were only four channels available. We also had trouble connecting to the Internet on our IPads. I would recommend they provide more tea and coffee facilities in the rooms but overall we were happy with our stay. Thank you.
b@Home Guest House in De Bakke (Mossel Bay) Reviewed by Chris Hibben, United Kingdom on . Rooms with a view! The wonderful location of the b@home didn't become apparent until we opened the curtains the morning after our arrival. The view of the bay from our bedroom terrace, sitting room and breakfast veranda were absolutely stunning. We could have sat watching the sea all day!
We had our 23 year old son travelling with us and so booked a double and a twin room, with ensuites. Both rooms were large, very smartly furnished/decorated, had sea views and were extremely clean and comfortable. Everything one could want is provided (including an honesty bar) and free wifi a useful bonus. The guest house is in a quiet road and has secure parking at the rear, reached via a service road and steps through the garden.
Had we'd been staying more than one night, there was a comprehensive range of ideas/information on places to visit locally. A selection of local restaurants offer a free shuttle service from the b@home, so that you don't have to drive in a strange town at night. Our breakfast was beautifully cooked and served on the lovely terrace.
We got lost arriving after dark and Kiki very kindly drove out to find us and guide us "home". She could not have been more welcoming and friendly, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting her.
We have no hesitation in recommending the b@home to friends and family, and would love to return to Mossel Bay and stay there again. It really does live up to the ideals embodied in its name, would a good base for touring the area and must be a fabulous place to stay during the whale watching season.
