Chilila Cottages and Campsite is situated on the banks of Kariba Lake in Zimbabwe. The area has retained its wilderness character and is surrounded by the rich African landscape. Chilila has views of Lake Kariba which is one of the largest man-made dams in the world.
The cottages are constructed with indigenous timber and have thatch roofs. Each Cottage is surrounded by a tropical garden with a secluded dip pool and braai area. The self-catering cottages have en-suite bathrooms, double or twin beds, linen and towels and mosquito nets. Well-equipped kitchenettes leads to a living area with views of the river.
The newly constructed campsites have ablution facilities and electric points. The huge Albizia and fig trees providing shade and relief from the hot Zambezi sun and the green lawns provide the local hippos a tasty treat in the evenings.
Due to Chilila being nestled in the Chilila Bay and nearby to the Masuma River and afternoon skimmer cruise is a must. Game viewing from one of the many skimmer boats is a different way to experience the wilderness of Zimbabwe. |
