The White Lion Lodge, a Karoo Wilderness Retreat, is situated along the Klein Kalkoenshoek River on the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. The 54000 ha, privately owned reserve lies on the famous Route 62 along the Warmwaterberg Mountains. The reserve is the closest free-roaming Big 5 reserve to Cape Town. Today thousands of animals, including white and tawny lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant and cheetah calls this fascintating reserve home.
The White Lion Lodge offers luxury accommodation, exceptional personal service and delicious cuisine. The lodge lies in the southern part of the reserve and is set along a tranquil, remote river valley offering an ultimate Karoo experience.
We offer four individual thatch roof suites. Each has a spacious bedroom, a dressing room, a full bathroom and an own outdoor shower. All suites are equipped with satellite television, under-floor heating, air-conditioning, a mini bar, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and a fireplace. Panoramic views over the riverbed can be enjoyed from the private wooden veranda. The bathroom offers twin hand basins, a spacious bath, separate rain dance shower, a toilet and a bidet. A sparkling, rim flow pool is available for the use of our guests.
The bedrooms are decorated with handmade bed linen, custom-made fabrics and furniture, and other features that blend in perfectly with the natural surroundings. The lodge is a combination of contemporary decor mixed with Karoo sandstone, timber and thatch. Airy, free-flowing spaces are breathtakingly stylish, sophisticated and refreshing. the interiors. The interactive kitchen allows for intimate and informal dining. |
