Escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life at Ascot Bush Lodge, just a stone’s throw from the N3 and a few kilometers from the Central Business District of Pietermaritzburg, we offer a unique experience in an African setting, surrounded by 12 hectares of natural bush enjoyed by abundant bird life.

Whether you are travelling for business and need a home from home, or whether you are visiting family or friends you will find our accommodation comfortable, convenient and affordable.

We serve a hearty breakfast and you can enjoy your evening meal with us both served in our rustic farm-style dining area overlooking the gardens leading down to the Duzi River, home to the Duzi Canoe race each February.

Our accommodation consists of 11 en-suite rondavels with Queen sized beds, four family lodges equipped with one queen and two single beds and two larger deluxe lodges that sleep two and have a sitting area and overlook one of the three dams on the property. All rooms are serviced daily and have tea and coffee making facilities in the room and air-conditioning/fans and flat screen TV with DSTV.

Ample safe and secure parking is available and there is free Wi-Fi in our reception, bar and restaurant areas and there are braai facilities located near the main building for your convenience. A golf cart will take fetch and carry you and your luggage to your room. A warm welcome awaits you in our fully licensed ReZone bar and you can relax under our shady trees and enjoy a sundowner.

Althouh we love animals, we regret that pets are not allowed.

Quick stopover Only spent one short night here so I can only base this review on that short experience.<div><br /></div><div>Arrived around midnight and the attendants were all efficient and helpful. </div><div> </div><div>However, in the morning at around 8:00 there was a knock on the door, and then another. We weren't even up yet. It seems that they were wanting to clean up the room already. Why, not sure, and since it was a Monday it couldn't be that they were rushing to accommodate crowds of people.</div><div><br /></div><div>All in all, it has pleasant surroundings and good value for money.</div>

Establishment's Response We do apologize for the inconvenience caused. the customer arrived at 3am and the security were occupied with investigating an incident that happened close by, hence the short delay in booking the customer in for the night.
