Tucked away under a hill on the eastern shores of Lake Mutirikwi, lies a lodge architecturally crafted to reminisce the ancient Great Zimbabwe, the second largest stone monuments in Africa. Built up of stone and thatch the lodge is dressed up in grandeur and splendour that meet your greatest expectations.

Each of the 17 individual lodges are overlooking the Lake Mutirikwi. Each lodge has en-suite facilities and provides you with the utmost privacy.

Visitors can lounge in the spacious lobby hall and enjoy the wide beverage selection in the bar. We have no TV'S in the lodges, but we do have DStv in the bar/lounge area. Take in the spectacular scenes from the restaurant of the beautiful landscape and gardens while tucking into sumptuous local and international cuisine.

Masvingo is considered to be Zimbabwe's oldest colonial town. It is home to the World Heritage Site Great Zimbabwe, Kyle Recreational Park and Lake Mutirikwi, Zimbabwe's largest in land water body.

Beneath standard The stay at Hippo Creek was pleasant, the staff was very friendly but the place was a bit run down.<div>For a self catering lodge the facilities were beneath the standard.</div><div>Sheets and bathroom were clean, but water taps and soap keepers were hanging loose.</div><div>Some of the power connections did not work or were burned. Clearly maintenance was not a strong point<br /><div><br /></div></div>

Stop over on route home to SA Our stay at Hippo Creek was only for one night.&nbsp; We were all glad to have wifi!!! after being in the car the entire day from Tete, Mozambique.&nbsp; We were disappointed not to see an hippo!&nbsp; The staff were very helpful.&nbsp; Our room was a little cold with not much lighting.&nbsp; Lovely raging fire in the main lodge.&nbsp; Sad to see so few guests - it must have been a thriving tourist spot years ago!&nbsp; Lovely peacocks.<br />
