Description
Pungwe Drift Cottages offers two self-catering cottages set on the banks of the Pungwe River inside the Nyanga National Park. The cottages are fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, warm bedding and extra blankets. No towels are provided.

Each cottage sleeps five guests and has two bedrooms with three single beds in one room and a double in the other. Other bed configurations are possible. Comfortable lounges with Jetmaster fireplaces separate the bedrooms. One cradle of wood per day is included in the rate. If more wood is used, it is charged for at the rate of $5.00 per bundle.

There are small dining rooms attached to the kitchens. Cooking is on wood stoves and gas double hotplates. Lighting is by candles and oil lanterns, while hot water is supplied by boilers. There are bathrooms and separate toilets. There are outdoor braais overlooking the river, with outdoor furniture. Charcoal is available for sale. Please bring your own food and drinks plus towels and toiletries. Although there are no fridges at the moment, drinks and necessary items can be left in the cold mountain streams alongside each cottage to cool down.

This is the most stunning setting deep inside the Nyanga National Park. Activities include swimming in the natural pools, picnics and enjoying the peace and quiet. For the more adventurous, there is fly fishing, mountain bike trails, wild water rafting, kayaking and river bugging.
