Getaway Coaches, situated in the peaceful Cullinan Conservancy, offers a unique experience of reliving the age-old tradition of sleeping in a train coach. Remember those childhood days you spent on a train, the days when that was the way you travelled to go visit your grandparents, or the days when you dropped your brother off at the train station before he went to the army. You can come and experience those nostalgic days at Getaway Coaches in the greater Cullinan Conservancy.

Getaway Coaches is situated at the old Van der Merwe Station. This was one of the stations on the route to Lourenco Marques, and legend has it that the Kruger millions was transported on this route and passed this station.

At Gateway Coaches you can get the feeling of life on the train. You can sleep in either first class where you have your own en-suite bathroom or in the second class, where the bathrooms are shared. At the same time, you can sit on the veranda and enjoy the view, have a meal in the dining coach or have a picnic on the lawns. All around you is the feeling of history and nostalgia.

Got back from wedding to find a drunk guy passed out on our bed. Loud music was played until 3am, although we politely asked them to turn it down! Owner not answering cell phone. People vomiting next to the train. Horrible, unpleasant experience. Would not advise anyone to stay there ever.
