Set in the heart of Pondoland at the mouth of the insanely beautiful Mdumbi River, Freedom O'Clock offers comfortable accommodation with commanding views of the ocean, river, mountains, and Tshani point with its perfect right-hand wave and beach breaks.
Surfing, fishing, canoeing, hiking and biking, snorkelling, bird watching and horse riding are just a few of the activities to busy your day, or just relax and take in the beautiful rural surroundings.
For those who have not yet travelled to the Wild Coast it should be pointed out that you will be travelling in an under-developed region. The variety and quality of goods and services you may be accustomed to are not always readily available.
Freedom O' Clock is set in a remote and primitive region, where even the provision of fresh water can not be taken for granted. Taking this into account we aim to achieve the highest possible standards and we feel it is best to make you aware of this.
If you prefer luxury to comfortable living then the Wild Coast may not be for you.

Freedom O' Clock in Mdumbi Beach Reviewed by Stella Koppel, South Africa on . We had a great stay, Otto and Lu were wonderful hosts, we experienced the true Wild Coast. We did not have a 4x4 vehicle and would like to warn others that I believe an off-road vehicle is required to travel the 25 odd km of dirt road.

Freedom blissWe had eight days of immersion in a real, friendly, rural South Africa with completely amazing views, beaches, river and ocean swimming, and a memorable canoe up the river. Lu and Otto have created a rare treat of welcome, care, and connection with a local community within a stunning environment.
