Description
Regardless of the name itself that describes the beauty of this oasis, Sunset View River Guesthouse and Wedding Venue is situated on the banks of the Vaal River just outside of Douglas on the R357 to Prieska. Here you will find peaceful, secure surroundings in the quiet of nature.

Sunset View River Guesthouse and Wedding Venue is surrounded by big gum trees and has a lush garden with a playground for children, sitting spots for the tired businessman and the area is an absolute playground for the fisherman.

Accommodation consists of a luxurious guesthouse with four individually decorated en-suite rooms and Camp Sites between 20 and 30 m from the river. Each air-conditioned room has a private entrance and is furnished with double or twin beds and is equipped with a TV with DStv, a hairdryer and a mini fridge as well as coffee making facilities and clean towels and linen is provided. Catering for breakfast and lunch packs as well as dinners are available and self-catering facilities are also available. Braai facilities are available on the balcony or near the river.

The Campsites are shaded from the early morning sun and is located within 50 m of the ladies and gents ablution facilities. Electricity points are available as well as braaiers for those that don’t have enough space to pack.

There is a grassy fishing spot on the river and Sunset View supports “catch and release” and would appreciate it if all our guests would honour this.

A beautiful venue is available for weddings, conferences, birthday celebrations and reunions and the lapa is situated on the bank of the river with a lovely view and background. Up to 100 people can be catered for in the lapa. For bigger functions we can arrange for a Marquee tent and catering, décor, flowers, music as well as photography.

Sunset View River Guesthouse and Wedding Venue strives to offer only the best service, so come enjoy a good night’s rest, sleepover or weekend away and hear the fish eagle, see some geese paddling around or just to relax on the balcony and appreciate nature's beauty.

Sunset View River Guesthouse and Wedding Venue in Douglas Reviewed by Hannes le Roux, South Africa on . Nice accomodation, no service We stayed over on 22/12/2013 and booked 2 rooms for the night. The accommodation was fantastic but unfortunately there was no service. We had to contact the lady in charge and she said we must take the keys of the keyholder, the power tripped and we had to sort it out ourselves. The next morning there was nobody insight and apparently we were supposed to get breakfast but the staff only arrived at 8:30. The area and accommodation was good, pity about the service.
