Blommekloof Cottage is a charming, fully-renovated, old labourer’s house situated on an old mushroom farm. Off the beaten track, it offers solitude, beauty, peace and quiet - walks in the fynbos, swimming or fishing in the dam, stargazing, meditating or baking muffins!

The three-bedroom cottage is fully-equipped with all the necessary mod-cons; however there is no TV and cell phone reception is poor. This however, is a big attraction, and most guests come here to unwind and find peace. There are two fridges and a huge fireplace, a library and unlimited fire and braai wood.

For those needing more stimulation, we are in close proximity to George, Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn and surrounds. We are pet-friendly as well as Gay-friendly. All we ask is that you respect the environment and the peace and quiet.

There is a trading store eight kilometres from the cottage, and plenty of local fare to sample, farm eggs, fresh farm milk and butter. And there are horse rides, carriage rides, bushman rock art and art galleries all in the immediate vicinity. Kids can explore, run wild in the valley and swim in the river. But mostly it is about unwinding and finding peace.

Blommekloof in Ruiterbos Reviewed by Peter Leersnijder, Netherlands on . Beautiful cottage and environment We stayed four nights at Blommekloof. The cottage was very nice, clean and complete. The environment is very beautiful and relaxing. Claude was very friendly too and showed us many nice things. The gravel road was easy to drive, so Oudtshoorn, Mosselbay and George could be reached without any difficulties.
