Description
Come and share some Free State Hospitality, in the heart of the Southern Free State; Ploegfontein Guest Farm offers lovely accommodation on a sheep farm. Experience some wonderful Karoo hospitality in one of our private cottages, surrounded by gardens and open views of the farm and surroundings.

Ploegfontein Guest Farm is ideally situated 160 km south of Bloemfontein on the N1. This is an ideal stopover for guests traveling through the Free State, and we look forward to welcoming you.

Comfortable accommodation is provided in private cottages. Dinner and a continental breakfast is served in the comfort of your cottage. Dinner includes Karoo lamb served with a selection of fresh vegetables, followed by dessert. Each cottage is fully equipped with a kitchenette area, a microwave, bar fridge, television with local channels, and a bathroom that includes towels and toiletries. Swimming towels are also available to our guests.

The guest farm also offers a large swimming pool, and a tennis court. Guests can enjoy a spot of bird watching, take lovely quiet walks through the veld. Gariepdam is just 40 km south of Ploegfontein, should guests wish to take a day trip.

Farm Stay As we need to over night fairly frequently on our trip from Somerset West to Nelspruit - our choice stopover point is either Springfontein or Bloemfontein going North. Ploegfontein was an ideal stay with friendly good service and very comfortable, safe accommodation. We will use again and recommend.

We had a hearty and warm welcome from the Hostess, doing her all to make us comfortable relaxed, also helping out with our kids. The peace and quiet of the farm was most welcome. Dinner was exceptional and of great value. The farm is also close to the highway and the road to it is well maintained (we got to the farm easily with our sedan). I would recommend the farm to anyone looking for a stop over on the N1. The closest fuel station is on Springfontein South of ramp, so fill up before going to the farm if coming from the North, or in the morning on the way out if coming from the South.
