Located on the South Coast of South Africa in the small beach town of Umzumbe. Only one hour south of Durban’s airport, the Surf House is a destination for surfers and beach lovers, with a "hey bru" environment, the vibe is always casual and relaxed.
The Surf House hosts rooms for overnight stays, weekend trippers and week long vacationers. The property has one main house with five bedrooms, two showers of which one is outdoors, three toilets, a kitchen, cleaning services, laundry and 650 square meters of property that lends itself well to camping, countless activities and beach-front access to Umzumbe Beach.
Exclusively located in a tropical bush setting with beach front access to Umzumbe's stunning blue flagged beach and famous right hand point break. It is a surf and beach lover’s paradise. Surf lessons, surf rentals and guided surf trips are available daily. The staff and owners are a breath of fresh air providing the most friendly customer service and hospitality.
The large beachfront property is surrounded by natural coastal forest humming with life and grants you direct access to Umzumbe's pristine beach.
Waking-up early has never been easier with the sound of crashing waves on your doorstep. If the surf is mellow, there are plenty of quiet, shady hammocks scattered around the yard, for you to kick up your feet and relax. We share the property with many friendly animals; including the elusive small blue duiker, flamboyant purple lourie and plenty mischievous vervet monkeys.
Umzumbe is known for its beautiful sub-tropical beach and excellent point break. Guests can stay at the Surf House and surf the point right out front or Richards secret left. Our guides will also take you to other local surf spots around the area but we never crowd local spots, so seats are limited. Forgot your shred stick at home?
