Koekais Guest Farm is a self-catering guest house located 18 kilometers from Griekwastad in the Northern Cape.
The house has three en-suite double bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size stove, an oven and a fridge with a freezer. Between the living area and the veranda are folding doors which allows nature to flow into the house. There is a spacious lapa where one can easily lose track of time while enjoying the fresh air and sounds of the surrounding nature.
Completed in August 2013, we are proud to present our beautiful and clean guest house to tourists from all over the world. The house blends with nature as it was built from stone found on the farm with an elegant thatched roof.
There is a wide variety of wildlife that can be seen that includes birds, vervet monkeys, kudu, steenbok, blue duiker, various rabbit species and other smaller animals like tortoises, meerkat and veld mice. The species less seen but present in the vicinity are various fox species, leopards, cheetah, aardvark and baboons.
Outside the front of the house, for those fortunate to stay during periods of good rainfall, flows a stream that funnels into the catchment area. At these times there is also a bustling waterfall which was the main reason for choosing the specific site for the guest house. |
