Description
Wol en Velle Guest House is a beautiful old sandstone building, restored and converted into a guest house. This double-storey building was previously a school, as well as a wool and sheepskin factory, hence the name Wol en Velle.

The building has two levels. The ground floor has a fully equipped kitchen where you can drink your coffee in the morning sun, with a view of the garden. The traditional old coal stove provides heat in winter months and a relaxing atmosphere. The ground floor includes a big dining room with antique chairs and coaches. The second level is home to three bedrooms. On your right we have Room One. This is the Honeymoon Suite with its own bathroom. On your left we have Rooms Two and Three, which shares a bathroom.

Wol en Velle has a very unique antique interior, done by Elizabeth Lyell who also did the interior for the famous Dutch Manor Hotel in Cape Town. The interior can only truly be appreciated by experiencing it for one’s self.

The town of Tweeling has a local pub and restaurant, ideal for a romantic evening out. The town is known for its friendly locals and relaxing environment, for people who want to take a break from their busy lives. A shop is just around the corner from the house. For those who like mountain cycling or biking, there are a lot of routes to be discovered.

Wol en Velle Guest House in Tweeling Reviewed by SANDY HAMMOND, South Africa on . Just plain awful. Avoid if possible. Yes, I appreciate the history of the place and the unique antiques, HOWEVER: bats and mice in the kitchen, broken lights, dusty, grimy kitchen units, minor cooking facilities available (2 plate hot stove). Last guest signed in the book in 5/2014. We won't ever be back.

Establishment response:

Every person that has stayed at Wol and Velle has been very friendly and impressed with everything. They have came back and recommended it to their friends. The floor and walls are still exactly the way it was when it was a 'Wol en Velle' factory. This is part of the building and experience. I’m sorry that the guesthouse was not fit for your needs. And I am very sorry that you were over all unhappy about everything. I will certainly attend to the issues you mentioned.
