Description
Macaneta Blue Beach Retreat is located 40 km north of Maputo in the prime area of Macaneta. Take the short ferry ride to find yourself in the midst of quiet unspoiled beaches and a unique bush environment. Our approach is quite different from the busy camps by offering three quiet and peaceful retreat studios all facing the ocean and nicely spaced out. These exclusive contemporary beach retreats offer premium access to the beach, being only 80 metres away, and secluded living at the same time.

Each studio consists of an open-plan living and sleeping area with a double bed and a quality mosquito net, an en-suite bathroom, a kitchenette with a hot plate, a bar fridge and cutlery as well an outside area with braai and dining facilities. Above houses 2 and 3 are viewing decks overlooking the ocean.

Ask our staff to assist you with local fish. Should you not want to cook, the island offers several excellent restaurants. There is also a convenience store and a filling station on the island. The retreats are only accessible by 4x4.

Alex is an exceptional host and he is willing to go to any lengths for his guests. It is only a few meters from the Beach! Lovely cabin and deck with a view of the sea.

We stayed for four days over Christmas, and it was one of the best four day holidays we have ever had (and trust me we are avid travellers)! House no 2 where we stayed was incredible - stunning sea views from the roof - did a skottel breakfast on the deck each morning, then a stones throw away from the beach to enjoy endless hours in the warmest ocean - wow, wow, wow! We had everything we need in the chalet - Alex helpful initially and then did not really check on us again to see if we had loo paper etc but all good! Will definitely go back!
