The house is approximately five to seven minutes drive by car to protected swimming beaches or two minutes to the beach. Set in park like grounds with a sparkling swimming pool Abaca House has everything to offer the holidaymaker or business person.

Easy access to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, good shopping and restaurants as well as being located close to business parks, uShaka Marine World, sports clubs and venues, tourist attractions, Casinos and Gateway Shopping Centre and many top quality 18 hole golf courses.

After a busy day sightseeing or tanning on the beach relax around a sparkling pool and TV lounge before you head out to enjoy the nightlife, local seafood and many other culinary delights.

We found the accommodation not as modern as it looks on the web; its okay for a no frills no fuss stay. Self-catering unit was not well equipped to serve for all of us, i.e. an old two plate stove that would cause electricity to trip if plugged the same time as a kettle or a microwave. Having to cook breakfast for 10 people with a 2 plate was really a pain. The kitchen actually killed my spirit. The heating system that was blowing cold air we ended up borrowing a heater elsewhere and the bedding is terrible it makes the rooms look dingy. There was no privacy whatsoever. There was a lot of human traffic on the premises apparently there is some contracting business taking place there. My other issue was having our host, Les (very nice and welcoming) on our face. He had an access door from his room leading to us, to our room and he would just emerge. If I did not have my hubby there with us I would have checked out the same day because that scared me. I also assumed because we were directly across the beach we would have had a beach view, but fine, no sweat on this one. Abaca House is a beautiful structure that needs a serious make over especially the kitchen. I am positive that it has a potential of attracting many including myself.
