Description
De Berg Guesthouse is situated in Matatiele, in the shadow of the Drakensberg. We were established in 2005 by the Pieterse family who still manage the place. Because our guests are important to us, we offer friendly service, clean and spacious rooms and delicious meals.

Our town is also called "Sweet Matat" by the locals and it lies on the R56 which is the shortest and most scenic route between the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and the Cape. There are three border posts into Lesotho which are between 40 and 60 km from Matatiele. The Mountain Lake Reserve forms part of Matatiele and is host to the rare rudd's lark.

Home-Away-From-Home While it may be a cliché, "home away from home" is the best description possible of our stay at De Berg Guest House! A warm welcome, followed by a wonderful, generous homemade dinner, was a great start. The bathrooms were great and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast the following morning was very generous (we had the continental breakfast) and we left De Berg Guest House well rested and very pleased with our choice of accommodation. Thank you Pieterse family for a wonderful stay!
