Description
Superior accommodation and hospitality at the Safari Club SA, only 4 minutes from O.R. Tambo International Airport. Opened the 1st November 2007 with 17 luxury en-suite twin bedded rooms (DSTV, air-conditioning, tea/coffee making facilities, secure onsite parking, and swimming pool) for the safari traditionalist, designed for both the foreign and local traveller in Southern Africa. The Safari Club SA is privately owned and run by renowned hotelier Emile Muller, offering his guests a true African experience at the doorstep of Southern Africa’s gateway. The concept behind Safari Club SA is to offer personal service to all our clients who have supported us over the years. Every room is carefully decorated to a specific area e.g. Kalahari room, Etosha room, Okavango room etc. Public areas consist of lounges, bar, business centre and separate breakfast room. A new swimming pool has been installed for those hot summer afternoons. The bar theme has been dedicated to the famous Nguni cattle and covered with beautiful memorabilia.

Safari Club SA Lodge in Johannesburg Reviewed by Carolyn Hall, South Africa on . Little oasis An overnight stay very near the airport, beneath the incoming flight path, so relatively quiet from airplane noise as engines are throttled back. A lovely large garden with loads of space. A tad tricky to find the entrance. Some small confusion over our booking as it was made on line the night before and being a weekend had not caught up with itself by the time we had arrived. A phone call the day of check out got it all sorted. The room was hot, the aircon did not work and they were unable to do anything about it until the Monday we checked out. Opening the windows helped but due to somewhat stormy conditions meant the wooden blinds were constantly smashing against the windows. Had to ask for towels for the room. Loved the relaxed honesty bar and being able to help ourselves as and when (although extremely hot up there). Breakfast was adequate. Apart from the weekend receptionist who was somewhat surly the rest of the staff were friendly and willing. Was able to put all my ice bricks into the kitchen freezer. A bit of an odd atmosphere to the place and somewhat on the pricey side but would come back.
Safari Club SA Lodge in Johannesburg Reviewed by Leonie Boshoff, South Africa on . Enjoyable It was defnitely enjoyable. Thanks for fetching us at the airport where we did feel lost as result of our delayed return flight. It was the best quiet place to stay at night and to feel bright in the morning again for the next flight. Next time I will definitely stay more nights. Keep up your friendliness and thanks to all the staff.
